KEVLAR and leather. A tough combination to beat. |
|
|
It's the combination of cut-resistant KEVLAR and water-resistant leather that makes Fire guardian the most advanced gloves available to the fire Service Industry. KEVLAR is one of the toughest man made fibers on the market. It is the incredibly strong yet light weight fiber used in bullet-resistant vests. Pound for pound, it's five times stronger than steel. KEVLAR" is inherently flame resistant, does not me It, and offers excellent cut and abrasion resistance, KEVLAR, provides up to 50% better cut resistance than 31/4-33/4 oz. leather. Here's how the gloves are constructed: Palm: Ultra-Temp Leather. It is naturally resistant to abrasion and provides a good grip. In addition, the leather has been chemically treated to withstand heat and resist hardening when exposed to water. The glove is fully washable and with proper care, the leather will retain its softness and suppleness even after repeated washings. Do not use chlorine cleansing agents. |
Back of Glove: Knit KEVLAR jersey. It offers better cut
resistance and better flexibility than an all leather glove, resulting in
better protection, less hand fatigue a more comfortable glove. The KEVLAR
back also allows the glove to "breathe" and thus dry faster than
an all leather glove.
Wrist: Not two but four layers of knit KEVLAR I help protect the vital wrist area cuts, slashes, punctures and burns. Lining: 100% wool faced lining, completely aluminized on the back to serve as a vapor barrier and help reduce steam penetration. Wool is the best insulating fiber available, thus the lining keeps the hand warmer during the winter, wet or dry. All linings are completely sewn (a glove within a glove) rather than tacked in to give you the best protection possible. HANDS DOWN, no other glove comes close to matching FIRE GUARDIAN's tough protection and durability. And, of course, FIRE GUARDIAN gloves meet or exceed all applicable OSHA, Cal-OSHA, or NFPA standards. |
| IMPORTANT NOTICE: KEVLAR is not fireproof or cutproof, nor is the Fire Guardian glove. No fabric or glove yet made can provide total protection against all hazards of fire fighting. |
